5th Grade Beginning Band (Period 6)

5th Grade Beginning Band is the first experience students will have with instrumental music. Band is a one year commitment every year.  They have several instruments available to them: flute, clarinet (woodwinds, or trumpet, trombone (brass). During the school year, they will have opportunities to try out and audition for other instruments, when they have demonstrated proficiency on their first instrument. Though they are learning something brand new, they are an ensemble and will perform in concerts throughout the school year. All students are expected to take their instruments home and practice! This is necessary for your student to be successful in the Durand Band Program.
