About Me

Hello Durand families,

 

I am so excited for another year here at Durand High School.  This is my seventh year in Durand.  To help my students and families feel more comfortable approaching me, I will tell you a little bit about myself.

 

First, I did not grow up in Durand, I grew up in a small town called Charlevoix, about an hour north of Traverse City.  I attended Grand Valley State University where I picked up my bachelor's degree in English and History.  Currently, I also have a master's degree from Arkansas State University in Curriculum and Instruction.  I taught for three years in Sault Ste Marie, before moving to Durand.  My wife of five years also teaches in Durand, she is in her sixth year at the middle school.  We have three kids - two boys and our youngest is a girl.  I should note that I also coach middle school girls basketball for Durand.
